Firefight: Review #15

The lack of posts has been due to college work, going to new york and being ill!

I've finally gotten around to having time to write my review on firefight book 2 in the reckoner's series by Brandon Sanderson.
I won't add the summary for firefight due to spoilers, I'll add the steelheart summary.

Firefight (Reckoners #2)

steelheart summary:

"They told David it was impossible--that even the Reckoners had never killed a High Epic. Yet, Steelheart--invincible, immortal, unconquerable--is dead. And he died by David's hand.

Eliminating Steelheart was supposed to make life more simple. Instead, it only made David realize he has questions. Big ones. And there's no one in Newcago who can give him the answers he needs.

Babylon Restored, the old borough of Manhattan, has possibilities, though. Ruled by the mysterious High Epic, Regalia, David is sure Babylon Restored will lead him to what he needs to find. And while entering another city oppressed by a High Epic despot is a gamble, David's willing to risk it. Because killing Steelheart left a hole in David's heart. A hole where his thirst for vengeance once lived. Somehow, he filled that hole with another Epic--Firefight. And he's willing to go on a quest darker, and more dangerous even, than the fight against Steelheart to find her, and to get his answer"

I found firefight to be even better than steelheart which surprised me as I fell in love with steelheart! this book follows david and the team in their life after steelheart was killed.
We learn so much more about Prof in this book and also meet new characters who are reckoner's but based in a different base.
Tia, David and Prof leave newcago to go to Babylon resorted where that's ruled by a high epic 'Regalia' who has a past with Prof. Babylon restored is where David meets the other reckoners and their is instant conflict because of Megan who is firefight.

If you shipped Megan and David as a couple in steelheart you're in for some heart warming moments in firefight but also confusing and stressful moments. You see how Megan isn't the epic everyone thinks she is, she's still her.  I love how David does have good character development but also stays the same reckless David with him doing things which could get himself killed.
I really disliked how the reckoners from Babylon resorted treated David, except mizzy she was cool.
In this book so much happens especially with Regalia and how we learn what she's actually after. Prof and David really don't see eye to eye in this book and that's one thing that I hated but know it had to happen for what the end result was. Ptof not trusting David was wise with his communication he was having with Megan but it also angered me how he tracked and hacked David's mobile device.  Honestly all david wanted was to find the truth out by teaming up with Megan, but when the reckoner's found out it was a mess due to them believing Megan killed Sam.

I was completely hooked by the first page which is what happened with steelheart too. Brandon Sanderson knows how to write a good book which makes me so happy.  The way Sanderson writes his characters makes you love them and feel as though you know them personally which is what you need in a book. If you're looking for a good series then check out the reckoner's series by Brandon Sanderson!
